2021 VIBHoF Inductees    From about 28 names to consider the boxing supporters primarily focused on the five selected.  Each Inductee have years of experience. And each one are also inductees of the British Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame established in 2010,  It is hoped the Vancouver Island Boxing Hall of Fame will continue to operate for many years to come.  Also, there is hope that some Island clubs and events will be selected in 2022 or later.

The MIKE CAIRD boxing story: By Brian Zelley Mike was an amateur boxer until 1964 and was a 1963 BC Golden Gloves Champion.  After boxing, Mike would turn to coaching.  In 1974, Ian Weir. Brian Zelley and Dan Wright would join up with Mike to revive boxing in Victoria. THE EARLY YEARS: 1963 to 1968 *The story begins in September 1963 with the Nepper family of Nanaimo. George Nepper decided to form a boxing club in 1963 and it was named after the Newcastle Hotel as the NEWCASTLE BOXING CLUB.
